First up a cute desk organizer in a refreshing color!

This organizer has room to corral all the necessities to have at your fingertips. Use it to hold your weekly file folders, your favorite flair pens, sticky notes, and bandaids. The metal mesh is durable and will serve you well for many years.

Brighten your desk space with a Kawaii phone stand

Do you use your cell phone alarm throughout your day to keep on track? I certainly do. Keep your phone at hand with this adorable teddy bear-shaped cell phone stand. It even has a handy hidden mirror. It comes in white and pink. Don’t forget the charging cables!

Adding a small plant to your desk keeps your teacher desk fresh and peaceful. If you cannot add a fresh flowers to your desk space this sweet lavender arrangement is just the ticket! It adds a pop of soothing comfort and research shows that adding plants to your desk can help reduce anxiety. Up the calming influence by placing a few drops of calming lavender essential oil now and then. The soothing scent will help you and your students focus!

desk blotter for teacher desk

Elevate your organization with a trendy blotter

Perhaps I am a bit old school, but I love my desk blotter for keeping important dates close at hand. I use mine to sketch out my units, record meeting times, and make a quick record of parent contacts. This blotter is my favorite for a calming teacher desk space because of the coloring areas along the sides. It really helps with focus and lowering my stress levels.

Add a turn in bin for student work

student work turn in bins

These versatile paper trays make a marvelous turn-in bin for your desk. Use one for each subject to keep the paper chaos in control. Add a cup with highlighters beside the bins for students to highlight their names as they turn in their work. No more searching for who turned in their paper! Kids love primary colors, but you do not have to! The white shade will keep the flow of calm colors through your desk. It is your teacher space after all.

Grab a handly clipboard to match your sense of style

I personally love this cactus and flower clipboard on Amazon. They come in many styles and colors to match your personal preferences. Just look for one that has a pattern that makes you smile. Clipboards are a versatile must-have for every teacher’s desk organization. I use clipboards for holding my behavior checklists, copies of exit slips, and I always have a copy of the day’s lesson plan checklists in my favorite pattern.

Finally add a stack of your favorite lesson plan checklists

A Daily lesson plan checklist keeps my teaching day on track. I just edited the file to reflect the layout of my school day and print a stack. I use these to keep a list of the day’s important reminders, what materials I need for a lesson, and any particular points I need to remember for class that day. It is handy and efficient. A teacher I know chose to save paper with these by laminating a set and writing on them with Vis-a-Vis pens. Brilliant!

One of my favorite ways to connect with students i One of my favorite ways to connect with students is through a handwritten note. I print a set of these at the beginning of the year, address one to each student, and add a stamp. Each week during the school year I add a personal note to 2-3 cards and drop it in the mail. Once I have sent a card I print a new set and start again. It is such an easy way to encourage students. Have you tried this before?
